Chart basics

How to read the Four Pillars.

The Four Pillars are the skeleton of a BaZi chart. The mistake most beginners make is trying to read everything at once. A better approach is to understand what each pillar does, then look at the chart as a pattern instead of a pile of symbols.

Reading order

Read the chart in layers, not in panic.

Step 1: find the Day Master

The Day Master is the best first anchor because it gives you a center point for the whole chart.

Step 2: look at the month pillar

The month pillar tells you a lot about season, environment, and how strong or pressured the chart feels.

Step 3: compare the other pillars

Now you can ask whether the chart is receiving support, expression, restraint, or practical demand.

Step 4: bring in timing

Only after the natal structure is clear should you add Luck Cycles, annual shifts, or daily timing language.

Best next step

Read the chart, then make it personal.

The free preview is useful because it turns these layers into a real example instead of leaving them abstract.
